Here are what students say about their experiences at LTIA.
Kyndel Kovach, Fayetteville, AR
LTIA inspired me with the opportunities we had to talk to world leaders. It was a once in a lifetime experience! I was able to improve my speaking skills a little and see firsthand how the world works behind the scenes. I felt like I was actually doing something to help change the world as we talked and influenced the ideas of leaders. I plan to use the information and experience from LTIA to make a difference in my community. This information will benefit me for a lifetime, and I encourage anyone who wants to be a leader to attend.
Mary Huffman, Bellville, Illinois
I really enjoyed my week at LTIA because of being around other Christians striving to serve the Lord. The tours were enjoyable, and the lectures were interesting. Everything we did was very interesting and enjoyable. I appreciate the excellent leadership examples of the staff at LTIA. It was definitely a very excellent week in every way. The Lord has really blessed this week, and I pray that the Lord will help us to apply all we have learned throughout the rest of our lives.
Jennifer Osborn, Ft. Worth, Texas
During the past five days, God has done an incredible work in my life. He has shown me things that I have not taken into consideration before. I would say that the lesson of greatest benefit to me prepared me to be able to share the gospel of Christ to anyone. Throughout my life, I have let person after person slip away without them hearing the word of God. This is my fault because I did not know how to Biblically present the Gospel. As “youth of the nations,” we need to study the Word of God so when face challenging questions, we will feel confident to give a correct Biblical answer. This has been a very valuable experience for me, and I plan to apply it to my life so that I will be a more informed and knowledgeable Christian.
Charissa Love, Cincinnati, OH
My experience at LTIA has been overwhelming. Many things have challenged me. I made a commitment this week that when I get home I am going to witness or pass out tracts every day to the lost. I feel that God wanted me to come because He knew that this is what I needed. I appreciate all of the LTIA staff very much.
Jon Nolan, Fayetteville, AR
Coming to LTIA has allowed me to become more focused on my spiritual walk and has also challenged me to become more of a leader. I truly believe that with the information I have received at LTIA that I can go back home and become a more influential leader among my peers at school. This experience will drive me much farther in my spiritual walk with the Lord.
Olivia Yates, Fayetteville, AR
LTIA has been an amazing journey and experience for me. Not only did I learn how to defend the Christian faith at LTIA, but I also received such an uplifting spirit to excel in my walk with Christ. The LTIA staff has truly been put together by the hand of God. The guidance and support I walked away with from LTIA has opened my eyes to the reality of this sinful, ignorant world. LTIA was a thought-provoking experience that challenged me to commit to making a difference.
Ashley Kittrell, Fayetteville, AR
I had been struggling with how I felt about certain issues. At LTIA, I learned how to defend my Biblical worldview. This is such an important topic, and I am so thankful that I am no longer ignorant in this area. I have a strong God-given desire to share my knowledge with others. My gratitude, support and prayers go out to LTIA. My experience was more rewarding than I could have ever imagined.
Doug Francis, Fayetteville, AR
My experience at LTIA has been great! LTIA is a program founded on the principles that my church supports. I have gained invaluable reinforcement for ideas I already believed to be true. My overall experience at LTIA has been one of great value, and I will no doubt use the training I have received.
John C. Hartzell, St. Louis, Missouri
I learned to make the case for the Biblical worldview, I enjoyed going on the many tours of the Capitol, and I especially appreciated the chance to meet many world leaders such as senators, congressmen, and former attorney generals. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. When I return home, I will try to pass on some of the ideas impressed upon me at LTIA. I encourage anyone who has aspirations of being a Christian leader to consider the LTIA program.
Mike Hogg, Edmond, OK
The hands-on experience involved in LTIA training left the biggest impact on me. Applying the lessons we were taught made the ideas stick in my mind. I really encourage anyone who is wanting to come. It is well worth your time. You will enjoy every minute. I have. I thank all the staff of LTIA for allowing this privilege. God bless you.
Katie Saldivar, Fayetteville, AR
As I walked through the Holocaust Museum, I realized more than ever that I have so many blessings. The courage of the people who suffered and died in the Holocaust was unbelievable to me. If you could witness the wooden beds the Jew slept on, the shoes and clothes they wore, the fire in their eyes as they tried to survive this tragedy, your heart would sink to your feet as mine did. I was left with the strong feeling that I must follow the dedicated examples of those who went through the Holocaust and realize that my troubles are nothing compared to theirs. I have a job to do for God. I pray that the Lord will help me achieve the work He has given me to do with the best of my God-given ability.
Ashley McLeod, Fayetteville, AR
My favorite part of the LTIA experience was all of the national and world leaders that we had the chance to listen to and talk to. Listening to leaders from our own country and ambassadors from other countries really put into perspective for me the importance of having leaders with the right world view. It made me see that there are some wonderful Christian people out there helping to lead our nation, and that there is need for many more. I have been inspired, and I am ready to take my new knowledge and experience home to share with others.
Lauren Albertson, Fayetteville, AR
LTIA is a tremendous opportunity for anyone to have. The one thing that I benefited the most from is that now I can explain to people exactly what I believe and why it is reasonable. I am so grateful that the Lord gave me this opportunity, and I look forward to being able to come back next year.
Adriel Hardin, Fayetteville, AR
My first year at LTIA was filled with a dose of concentrated learning. I had lots of fun and met lots of people. My second year at LTIA broadened my understanding and made the training more applicable to me. I shared the LTIA lessons with others, but the personal benefit has been so much more. Being with other students at LTIA, I saw what America’s future can be. If thirty-five men and women can give up a week of their summer for Christian leadership training, then we can change the world. At LTIA, I realized that I am ready to fight the fight for God. Coming home, I found my way to reach the world as a senior in high school. I am focused on a missions club for Fayetteville Christian School. I was challenged and prepared to act. Please pray for me and other LTIA students that we will be able to take what we have learned to reach the world for Christ.
Lucy Cavanaugh, Fayetteville, AR
This was my second year of LTIA , and I enjoyed it so much! I think my favorite part of LTIA were the speakers. Because of LTIA, I have more of an idea how to be a more effective Christian leader. With information like this, my friends and I can reach our college campus for Christ.
Melissa Reed, Oklahoma City, OK
I wasn’t sure what I was getting into when I came to LTIA. I thought it was just a nice, little Christian program for youth. Mostly, I was excited about spending two weeks in Washington, D.C. Little did I know that I was going to learn a bunch and have plenty of fun. My world has always been just my hometown. Then I hear about how the whole world from churches to nations is controlled by how people think. We need leaders in the world who think right about things! I was very disturbed by the Holocaust Museum. My hear was shaken; it cried: “How can that be?” I was scared half to death. Then it hit me. The power of ideas determine how we live. The power of ideas turn into actions. I need to do something. I wrote many things to share with my youth group back home, but the one thing I want to say for sure is, make a difference. So I want to share that I want to make something of myself and change something for the good of humankind. I am so thankful for the lessons that have opened my eyes at LTIA.
Melinda Perry, Fayetteville, AR
The thing I got most out of the LTIA experience was how to put my Biblical worldview into action. LTIA helped me realized that whether I am a politician or a housewife, I must be a good leader for Christ. The excellent leadership skills I learned at LTIA will help me advance and change my world no matter which road in life I take.
Kaleb Kovach, Fayetteville, AR
I learned that a Biblical World View leader must have Biblical goals, purpose, lifestyle, and discipline to be a successful Christian leader. LTIA is one of the greatest learning experiences of my life, and I can’t wait until next year comes so I can go again. I intend to use lessons learned to further the work of Christ in my educational, political, and church community. If you want to make an impact in your community, I encourage you to come to what could be the greatest learning experience of your life, LTIA.
Kyle Judkins, Edmond, OK
Well, where do I start? LTIA has been an amazing experience. I learned so much information that I can apply to my Christian walk. The lectures about the Biblical world view really gave me a stronger foundation in my beliefs. The lessons on applying what we learned to be leaders increased my knowledge and confidence in those areas. The most important to me was realizing that if I don’t do something, who will? These two weeks have strengthened me in every area as a Christian, and I plan to use all of the lessons I have learned.
Adam Sutton, White River, Arkansas
LTIA made me see how getting involved in my community as a Christian leader is very important. Before I came, I didn’t really see how I could make much of a difference, but now I know better. I really enjoyed being with other young men and women who believe the same as I do and are not scared to say what they believe.
Christina Hahn, Fayetteville, AR
The training provided by LTIA is outstanding! And the second year is the best ever because everything makes even more sense to me. The arguments against evolution and the teachings defending the Biblical worldview are very useful to me as a freshman in a secular college I hope to use these things that I learned to be able to defend my beliefs. I needed this training! I learned that I want to be more than a role model. I now aspire to become a leader, and the information I learned at LTIA will help me achieve that. Any young person aspiring to be more of a leader and wanting to do something with his/her life, I suggest attending LTIA.
Audrey Le, Kansas City, Kansas
I learned a lot at LTIA, but especially how to defend my beliefs. Using science to defend our faith is amazing! I heard about science evidence for creation, but I did not know how to use it in a way to defend my faith. Now I know how to make the case for creation with my skeptical friends.
Amy Gabbard, Fayetteville, AR
A big part of LTIA to me is that I am so much more confident now to stand up to criticism about my faith. I want to stand up for what I believe in and not go along with the crowd who might be agreeing with the professor about there being no God. Thank you, LTIA!!
Lisa Briney, Fayetteville, AR
Of the many valuable lessons that will enhance my life, the lesson on hard work left a big impression on me. If I want to do great things with my life, I must learn to push myself to do my best. Most people only do what is necessary to get by. I don’t want to be like most people.
Aaron Miller, Bellville, Illinois
The valuable lesson I learned from LTIA was the importance of guarding my heart. I want my life to what kind of heart I have. I must be careful about what I hear, what I see, what I say, where I go, and I think about. My prayer is as David’s: “Search me, O God, and know my heard; try me, and know my thoughts; And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23
A full week of enriched, personalized training in Biblical values, apologetics, leadership, and meetings with world leaders excites students about what they believe in and about opportunities they have to defend their faith with confidence and real world, common sense answers.
Over thirty years in academic communities has given me insight into the cultural warfare we face. Students going to college or pursuing a career unequipped to answer the questions being asked today are weak in their faith and vulnerable to their opponents. I have seen and personally experienced, first hand, the prejudice and attacks against Christians in a community that is supposed to be open to free thought and tolerant of opposing ideas.
I know what it means to be threatened with denial of a doctorate degree after thirteen years of college. I know what it is like to be given an ultimatum to be censored or denied a degree. I know what it is like to be required to take a one on one course for indoctrination into a worldview position or be denied a degree. I know what it is like to be subjected to public intimidation and humiliation for questioning a controlling ideology in academia. I have been there and done that. Students not equipped to defend their faith are like lambs led to the slaughter on campus.
I founded the Leadership Training Institute of America to make sure that students have an opportunity to receive training to not only survive but to provide leadership in their community, schools, and churches. LTIA students are equipped with tools and insights for a lifetime of learning to help them be effective leaders.
LTIA is more than a youth conference. It is a conference that addresses issues of today and tomorrow. It equips young and old to understand the significance of the Biblical world view, its vital contribution to a safe and wholesome culture, and its relevance for today’s challenges.
And unlike other world view conferences, LTIA training presents world view lessons systematically so that students gain deeper and more practical insights into how one thought leads to another and how issues of today relate to personal world view opinions. These insights help students answer questions they have never heard before and solve problems they have never been confronted with. LTIA training simplifies difficult issues and makes learning fun.
Rather than offer great stand-alone topical lessons on important issues, LTIA shows students how each lesson and topic relates to others. This teaches students how to think about, discuss, and solve real global problems of today.
Because of generous donors and a volunteer staff committed to ensuring that cost is not an obstacle to training students to be Biblical world view leaders, tuition for the seven day LTIA national conference in Washington, D.C. including meals, housing, training materials, and speaker/tour costs is just $399. This is the price one person would spend for staying in D.C. for just one day and night. For this price, LTIA students get seven days and seven nights of room and board with world class training. This cost per student can be reduced further by taking advantage of additional scholarships and fund raising activities that are built into the leadership development program. The LTIA experience is seven days and seven nights of world class training that is as fun as it is fulfilling at minimal cost to students.
LTIA should be a part of every student’s training. Some churches offer their seniors LTIA training as a graduation present. Most students have so much fun that they come again. Others apply to be interns, and currently, over half of the LTIA staff is former students.
LTIA training is not really a question of if you should come. The opportunity for such valuable training in personalized Biblical world view leadership must happen. It is imperative that we obey the Biblical admonition to be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks of the hope that lies within us. It is imperative that Christians learn how to present the case for relevant Biblical faith in a secular world. It is imperative that Christians not only learn to effectively defend their faith but learn to be leaders with real world, relevant solutions. It is imperative that Christians be the kind of leaders that inspire others to follow. LTIA equips students with the doctrine, the character, and the skills to meet the challenges of today.
